FAQ
If you have a personal issue or injury, you may want to message Coach Claire directly and she will respond during normal business hours. But in general, you should be comfortable posting your training questions to the group. You will most likely get an answer first from a member of the team who's been through it before!
With team coaching, you get access to a private weekly podcast that Coach Claire creates from the questions submitted to the Social Wall and from what she sees in the team training that week. You have a team atmosphere where everyone cheers each other on and supports each other through tough times as well. All your questions will be answered either directly in the group or on the private podcast. You will get the most out of the team if you are comfortable sharing in a group and enjoy a community feel.
With 1:1 weekly coaching, everything you ask is private between you and Coach Claire. She will go through your training each week, give comments and feedback and make sure that you are on track, one on one. You can apply for 1:1 coaching here.
No. Your training schedule, paces, and results are completely private to you and Coach Claire. You are encouraged to post your wins and workouts to the Social Wall, but that is completely optional. You can simply ask questions and participate in the group without sharing your data. Those who do like to share, however, will get the most feedback and likely the most value from the community.
Even though your training is carefully planned to keep you strong and injury-free, runners do sometimes get injured. But this is actually when a supportive community and coach can help you the most!
Coach Claire can update your schedule to plan the appropriate cross training and strength work to get you back up and running sooner. She will work with you following recommendations from your in-person providers (physical therapists, primary care doctor, etc) to help you get back on track. And the team will be there to help you through those rough patches of not running with the support you need!
Coach Claire creates trainings, courses, and holds online events to help runners just like you. The PR Team gets first dibs and free access to these included in their membership!
Examples are a workshop on how to plan a year of running, how to strength train effectively for your goals, or how to transition to a more plant-based diet with less worry. These are events that you can join live or watch recorded later at your convenience.
No. Coach Claire does not offer stand-alone nutrition coaching.
Rest and recovery is just as vital to your coach as it is to athletes!
Coach Claire works normal business hours, Monday through Friday and keeps the laptop closed on the weekends. She will be off all standard American holidays and one full week per quarter to recharge.
You will still have full access to your training plan, team support, and all her resources during these times.
You will need to agree to the following Waiver:
Waiver of Liability In consideration of being permitted to participate in The Planted Runner, LLC coaching program, I, for myself, my heirs, personal representatives and assigns (the “client”), do hereby release, waive, covenant not to sue and discharge Claire Bartholic and The Planted Runner, LLC from liability from any and all claims including the negligence of Claire Bartholic and The Planted Runner, LLC resulting in personal injury, accidents, illnesses (including death), and property loss arising from, but not limited to, participation in The Planted Runner Personal and/or Team Coaching.
Assumption of Risks: Participation in running and conditioning programs carries with it certain inherent risks that cannot be eliminated regardless of the care taken to avoid injuries. I know that running is a potentially hazardous activity and certify that I am in good health and physically fit enough to enter into a training program. I acknowledge that I am aware of the many risks involved in athletic training in general and running training specifically, which risks include by way of example and not limited to: 1) Minor injuries such as scrapes, bruises, sprains and strains, 2) more serious injuries such as joint, muscle and bone injuries, concussions and other head injuries, heath related injuries such as heat stroke and heat exhaustion, dehydration and overhydration conditions such as hyponatremia, and catastrophic injuries and conditions such as heart attacks and other conditions or injuries which could be fatal. I have read the previous paragraphs and I know, understand, and appreciate these and other risks that are inherent in training for and participating in road, trail and track running and racing and any other conditioning and cross training activities associated with that training. I hereby assert that my participation is voluntary and that I knowingly assume all such risks.

Claire Bartholic and The Planted Runner, LLC advises all clients to speak with their own Medical Provider or Mental Health Provider before implementing any suggestions obtained through our Website, Programs, Products and Services.
Indemnification and Hold Harmless: I also agree to INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS The Planted Runner, LLC and Claire Bartholic from any and all claims, actions, suits, procedures, costs, expenses, damages and liabilities, including attorney’s fees brought as a result of my involvement in The Planted Runner Program.
Payment Terms: Payment for coaching services is due upon the beginning of coaching term. All sales are final. I understand that no full or partial refunds will be given if I choose not to continue before the end of the coaching term. Claire Bartholic and The Planted Runner, LLC may agree to “pause” the coaching term due to injury or illness, and continue the coaching service when I am ready, on a case-by-case basis, but this is not expressly guaranteed. Due to the instantly downloadable electronic nature of all digital products, all sales of digital products are final and non-refundable.
Severability: I further expressly agree that the foregoing waiver and assumption of risks agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as is permitted by the law of the State of North Carolina and that if any portion thereof is held invalid, it is agreed that the balance shall, notwithstanding, continue in full legal force and effect.
Acknowledgment of Understanding: I have read this waiver of liability, assumption of risk, and indemnity agreement consisting of three pages, fully understand its terms, and I understand that I am giving up substantial rights, including my right to sue. I acknowledge that I am signing the agreement freely and voluntarily, and intend by my signature to be a complete and unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extent allowed by law.
