I used to be an absolute wreck before races. My mind was swirling, my stomach was in knots, even my hands would be shaking before the gun went off.
I just couldn't seem to get a grip on my own mind.
But no one could see that.
So when I finally ran my sub-3 hour marathon at age 42, most people assumed it was all about the miles, the training plan, the speedwork.
Sure, my training was strong, but the real transformation came from something else
I learned to control my mind.
I had spent hours cobbling together mindfulness audios from YouTube. None of them were designed specifically for runners, let alone for the high-pressure moments of race day.
But I made it work. I practiced visualizations, mantras, and mental rehearsals, and on race day, I felt calm, focused, and unstoppable.
I was in my flow state: fully present, fully confident, fully in control.
It was the key to achieving my dreams.
I always wished there was something designed specifically for runners, something I could follow step by step for the night before, the morning of, my warm-up, and even mid-race.
